                                                               task 1

Personal branding means how people see you professionally and what you are known for, but is not about work, it also reflects how a person shapes their own life, values, character and what they choose to do or follow. Personal branding includes the image, behavior and identity that an individual presents to others, helping people understand who they are and what they stand for. By building a positive reputation, individuals can create trust in their skills, experience and personality, especially in today’s digital world where people often research others online before connecting with them (Montoya & Vandehey, 2009; Kotler & Keller, 2022).

Social media plays a central role in personal branding because it allows individual to communicate directly with a wide audience at little or no cost. To use social media effectively for personal branding, individuals should first choose a platform that matches their goals, such as LinkedIn for professional authority or Instagram for visuals storytelling. Consistent posting helps audiences recognize their expertise and personality over time. Sharing educational, inspirational or behind the scenes content builds trust and authenticity, while engaging with followers strengthens connection. In this way, social media becomes a tool not only to present skills but to express values and identity (Sheperd, 2005).

Several world famous examples illustrate the impact of social media on personal branding. Christian Ronaldo uses Instagram to highlight fitness and lifestyle, reinforcing his identity as a world class athlete (ESPN, 2023). Georgina Rodriguez has created a lifestyle and fashion brand by sharing personal journeys and partnerships (Netflix, 2022). Huda kattan built a community through beauty tutorials before launching her global cosmetics brand (Forbes, 2020). Jay Shetty used storytelling and inspirational video content to become a leading voice in personal development (BBC, 2023). Dr. Haifa Younis developed a respected educational brand by sharing spiritual teaching and positive values online (Jannah Institute, 2024)

These examples show that personal branding is not limited to career success; it is also shaped by lifestyles, inspiration and values. Social media enables individuals to communicate their identity and purpose to a wider audience.
